Social Security Disability Insurance is a Social Security program that pays monthly benefits to you if you become disabled before you reach retirement age and aren’t able to work. Your monthly benefit depends on how much you worked and paid into the system.

Dependent Benefits are available for children (up to the age of 18 in most cases) or other dependents of the disabled worker.
Child’s Benefits may also be available for disabled adult children who became disabled prior to age 22.
Survivor Benefits can be paid to a disabled widow or widower between the ages of 50 and 59.
